3 Things To Do Prior A Massage

3 Things To Do Prior A Massage

1. Pack a Change of Clothes: After a massage, wearing close-fitting or restrictive clothing will probably feel uncomfortable. When preparing for a treatment, pack soft, loose-fitting clothes you can change into afterwards.

2. Bring a snack: Massage can lower your blood sugar levels, which can leave you feeling lightheaded. In fact, it has even been shown to reduce blood sugar levels in diabetic patients. A light, unprocessed snack containing healthy carbohydrates and protein is the best choice. Try vegetable sticks with hummus or an apple with a piece of string cheese.

3. Bring some water: Massage can dehydrate muscle tissue, so keep your water bottle to hand.

Massage promotes the breakdown of metabolic waste, and your body requires water to flush this through the lymphatic system. Your kidneys will be working harder than usual, which will draw water from your bloodstream.

Avoid caffeine and alcohol, as they will dehydrate you further. If you can’t stand the taste of regular water, add a few slices of lemon. Caffeine-free herbal teas are another good choice.

Looking forward to seeing you -

The Aura Color Blue - Part I

The Aura Color Blue

An Aura is believed to be an intangible, ever-shifting field that surrounds all living things. Today we will look at the color Blue. This color envelops us in serenity and calmness. It connects us to things that are bigger than ourselves. It can fill us with positive energy.  This is why blue is such a popular color in clothing. It calms us and grounds us in the present moment, stabilizing our energy. Do you have a blue aura? In this article, we’ll take a look at the blue aura meaning and common personality traits.

Meaning

Aura colors can mean many things to different people, but a blue aura is generally thought to be connected with sensitivity and intelligence.

The presence of blue energy in a person’s aura is also linked to an openness to receiving or perceiving spiritual energy. People with a blue aura may have a strong sense of intuition, but be unaware of where their instincts come from.  “True blue” auras are sometimes found in people who are calm and collected and tend to live a very balanced life. In short, the meaning of a blue aura often reflects the meaning of the color in nature—a relaxed, receptive energy that is aware of the bigger picture.

The Blue Aura Personality

The blue aura personality is optimistic, intelligent, open, and calm. People with a blue aura are believed to be highly intuitive and inspired, sometimes receiving insight from other planes.

With friends and family, the blue aura is likely to be empathetic and communicative. Their sensitivity and openness allow them to connect deeply with the people around them. However, people with blue energy need to be aware of their tendency to talk in circles or dump their problems on their loved ones. What they may see as open communication, others may receive as non-stop chattering or even gossip.

In the workplace, jobs that demand high intelligence and strong communication skills may attract people with a blue aura.

Speaking Up During a Massage

At the core of everything, My passion is to help you feel better by giving bodywork that is both effective and feels incredible. While I think I might know what that means, each client is beautifully different and so the only person who really knows what’s best for you is you. I rely on your honest feedback to make the experience the best it can be.

Speak Up

What You Don’t Like

Crazy as this sounds - I love to hear what you don't like because that helps me fine tune things for you and possibly others. I don’t like to hear after the fact that you were cold, didn’t like the music, felt the pressure was too light, etc. Please tell me what’s not working while I still have the chance to fix it. I advise everyone before their massage to speak up along the way.

The things- you-can-tell-me-about list includes (but is not limited to):

a no-go body part you don’t want worked, music, pressure, scents, technique, and temperature.

What You Do Like

Please feel free to tell me what did work for you. I really like that, too, and it’s actually very helpful to know what you thought was effective and/or just felt great to you; I’ll make sure to keep using those techniques in your future sessions.

Stretches between Massages

People can be classified into two categories: those who have back pain and those who will get back pain. The inevitability of back pain can be avoided with stretching.

During a stretch, there is increased blood flow to the muscle, causing it to relax. People often don’t see the consequences of not stretching until they are reminded by pain in the body. You save up for pain—the body doesn’t forget what you’ve been up to the last 20 years.

Stretching daily and it should be part of daily body maintenance, likening it to the habit of brushing one’s teeth. There are Three principles for an effective and safe stretching routine.

Avoid Pain

When stretching correctly, muscles will react in the desired manner. But, if muscles are stretched to the point of pain, the body’s defense mechanisms will kick in. When muscles register pain, they try to protect themselves by contracting, which is the opposite of what you want to achieve.

Slight pain during a stretch can feel good

if the pain doesn’t spread to the rest of the body. Distinguishing between the burn of stretching and actual pain is vital.

Stretch Slowly

Stretching should be progressive and never forceful. Don’t stretch the muscle too fast. The body will try to protect the muscle by contracting it, preventing you from reaching your goal.

Stretch the Correct Muscle

Although this sounds obvious, you must use proper technique to follow this rule. Movement that goes a couple of degrees in the wrong direction can mean the difference between stretching the muscle and pulling on the joint capsule or similarly harming the body.

Careless or poorly done stretching can actually worsen your condition. This common mistake is the main reason why some people consider stretching worthless or painful.

* I’m a big believer in stretching. I will stretch you during the massage and send you home with stretching routines if needed.

Wishing you the best today. 🍮

Massage and Emotions

Massage and Emotions

Massage can provide stress relief for just about anyone. Yet the benefits of massage go beyond stress relief. Moderate-pressure massage for as little as 15 minutes may offer relief from depression, anger, and anxiety.

Massage therapy can improve a person’s emotional health by reducing stress and stress hormones; by increasing serotonin and thereby reducing depression and pain; and by enhancing immune function and thereby reducing bacterial and viral illnesses.

Research has also shown that:
  • Six 30-minute massages over a two-week period can ease pain and improve mood among people with advanced cancer.
  • Massage can help reduce depression in both children and pregnant women. As little as 15 minutes of massage on a regular basis may be beneficial to mood.
  • Massage therapy is helpful for trauma victims. Aside from physical pain, victims of trauma, past or present, will often hold memories of such events in their muscle tissues. By receiving massage from a trained professional, one can get back in touch with their body and be able to access the held emotions.
Massage is not just a way to gain stress relief — you can reduce many of the other unpleasant emotions in your life as well. Many studies show that massage therapy reduces negative mood states like depression, anxiety, and anger and their associated stress hormones.

There are a lot of studies out there that show how massage is playing a huge part in managing those emotions and having better health. Another great reason is add massage as part of your monthly health routine. As I mention in the beginning of the post, 15 minutes may offer relief. I offer a 15 minute massage. Let's get you in for some emotional wellbeing.

I look forward to seeing you. - Nancy

Hello Sunday☕️🇺🇸

Hello Sunday

Yesterday my husband and I attended a wedding in Pierz, MN. It was a classmate of mine. We were best friends in middle school or grade 7-9. Due to Facebook we were able to reconnect and stay in touch.

I’ll be honest, we aren’t very close these days but something in me said I needed to attend this wedding. Once I got to my seat and the music started to play, I understood immediately why I needed to be there. We grew up in the same small town. She grew up on one side of the lake in town and I grew up on the other. The classmates on that side of the lake all had parents with well to do jobs, their parents were on average 15 yrs or older then mine and catholic. It was a different energy. I grew up in a penny pinching, very young, low income household and Lutheran. It was the 70’s - a different time.

I needed to be there because it jogged my childhood memories and thoughts forward. I had forgotten all of them for years. They all came to me in a moment, and all of a sudden I had all the answers for that child in me. As an adult I’ve studied the history of our home town. It was just 8 years ago that I visited the other side of our home towns’ lake. Otherwise I had not been to that side since I was 11.

As a child, I could feel energy and see the colors with that energy and didn’t understand why. Yesterday I sat there with her family and it was the same energy and colors I felt as a child. It all came back to me. This friend was the first person I confided in to see if she saw the same things and she made fun of me and said no. No one does she replied. I was 11 years old. It’s this moment of my childhood that I had blocked out of my memory until yesterday. This is the point that changed our friendship and I started distancing myself from her. We were not close friends. At times, I recalled, we hated one another in school.

This classmate was friends with everyone in school. She was in every sport. She was in band and choir. In reality I felt like I should have been the last person there at her wedding. And yet she had chose me after all these years to come to her very small wedding. I was one of 3 people from our school yesterday. The other two come to find out were friends of the families. They grew up next door to each other

It was worth the hour drive and hot sun. I had the best afternoon reflecting and reliving. I was overcome with joy to finally put the memories of a child in me to rest. The classmates parents of age 88 were there and full of great health. It was magical to reconnect with them.

My advice- if your feel you need to go and be a part of something that doesn’t make any sense for you to be a part of - go!!
Wishing you blessings today.

Hello Saturday ☕️🇺🇸

Welcome

This last week was like a fast ride. Holy Cow. 😅
I started my week with a visit to my eye doctor. The week prior I was diagnosed with inflammation on my eye. That was painful and it discolors the white of your eye. I was put on a steroid and eye drops. This week everything appears to be clearing up nicely. They changed the eye drops to a different brand. This is my first experience with dry eye and eye drops. They have made an amazing improvement for me. Not only do my eyes feel better but I’ve also noticed a huge drop in concussion symptoms. HUGE! This last week was the first week since we reopened back in June that I had ZERO down time in bed struggling with symptoms of headaches, dizziness and fogginess.

Yesterday was my first time to go in an actual store in a while. I needed groceries. 😣 I found myself really stressed while being in the store. I needed 2 cards. One for a wedding and one for a graduation. Well I ended up buying cards for everyone I know for the rest of the year, expect Christmas. On top of that I brought two of every item I purchased.ugh. Twice the bill as well. But seriously 😳 This is just crazy. Between the stress and the worry. The only up side is I got ALL of the upcoming birthdays, anniversaries and Halloween covered. 🤣🤣

Last week I made some changes to the regular massage routine. I put a towel warmer in another room because at this time of year it’s too hot in mine. So we’ve had warm towels to refresh those tired feet. AND of all crazy things I received word that the company that I purchased 2 air conditioners, from back in May, that they are on ship headed this way. Unbelievable! We just might see them by the end of the year.

Enough of my craziness- You enjoy your day. I am headed to Pierz, MN for an outside, social distancing, wedding. 🙄 Sounds fun.🙄

Enjoy and God Bless☕️🇺🇸

3 Major Effects of Long-Term Stress

3 Major Effects of Long-Term Stress

A little stress every now and then is not something to be concerned about. Ongoing, chronic stress, however, can cause or exacerbate many serious health problems. I am just going to point out some major ones today.

1.  Digestive system

Under stress, your liver produces extra blood sugar (glucose) to give you a boost of energy. If you’re under chronic stress, your body may not be able to keep up with this extra glucose surge. Chronic stress may increase your risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

Heartburn Pain

The rush of hormones, rapid breathing, and increased heart rate can also upset your digestive system. You’re more likely to have heartburn or acid reflux thanks to an increase in stomach acid. Stress doesn’t cause ulcers (a bacterium called H. pylori often does), but it can increase your risk for them and cause existing ulcers to act up.

Stress can also affect the way food moves through your body, leading to diarrhea or constipation. You might also experience nausea, vomiting, or a stomachache.

All of these sound like a good time - NOT.

2.  Muscular system

Your muscles tense up to protect themselves from injury when you’re stressed. They tend to release again once you relax, but if you’re constantly under stress, your muscles may not get the chance to relax. Tight muscles cause headaches, back and shoulder pain, and body aches. Over time, this can set off an unhealthy cycle as you stop exercising and turn to pain medication for relief. That's not good.

She looks stressed.

3.  Respiratory and cardiovascular systems

Stress hormones affect your respiratory and cardiovascular systems. During the stress response, you breathe faster in an effort to quickly distribute oxygen-rich blood to your body. If you already have a breathing problem like asthma or emphysema, stress can make it even harder to breathe.

Under stress, your heart also pumps faster. Stress hormones cause your blood vessels to constrict and divert more oxygen to your muscles so you’ll have more strength to take action. But this also raises your blood pressure.

As a result, frequent or chronic stress will make your heart work too hard for too long. When your blood pressure rises, so do your risks for having a stroke or heart attack. Oh NO.

Benefits of Massage for Depression

 Benefits of Massage for Depression

When you ask exactly how massage therapy works to benefit people with depression, the most accurate answer is “we don’t yet know.”

But that’s not to say the benefits aren’t real.

  • Massage therapy may work in similar ways as psychotherapy. The size and effect of massage therapy on trait anxiety and depression is virtually the same as that routinely found in the research studies of psychotherapy for those same conditions. Typically, both take place in a private setting and are based on a ‘50-minute hour’ for the length of the session. Repeated sessions on a weekly schedule—or similar—would be a traditional or common pattern when the goal is long-term reduction of anxiety or depression.

  • TRUST: The other striking similarity is that both are dependent on an interpersonal relationship founded on trust. Some psychotherapy researchers think that the existence of the trusting relationship—sometimes referred to as the therapeutic bond, or as the working alliance—is the most important component of psychotherapy’s effectiveness. And the same may also be true for massage therapy, though this is something that needs to be researched.

  • Remember, too, that depression isn’t just mental health issues—some of the symptoms manifest physically, too. Depression is considered a mental illness, but one feels it in the body as well, a sense of heaviness in the corporeal. The physical experience of massage can change the physical sensation of heaviness to something lighter and can restore the feeling of living in ones body again instead of being lost in one’s head.
These are the Benefits I see. Depression is a horrible, lonely struggle. Please - I encourage you- please contact me and let's see what we can do to help you win your battle against Depression.

Hello Sunday ☕️🇺🇸

Hello Sunday☕️🇺🇸

Welcome

This last Friday, I attended my first spa with my oldest daughter. She was the one that scheduled everything for my birthday this last July. I had a massage, a facial and pedicure. It was wonderful to see what people are getting when they say, "they've went to a spa." Everything was very nice. BUT what you are getting at a spa is very different then what we offer at InspaRation Salon. I feel we are more detailed orientated and you are getting a lot more for your buck.

My husband and I are also known as #bundtingthroughtlife on Instagram. Every Sunday is meal prep day for us. As part of the meal prep we started about a year ago making a bundt cake once a week. Due to the hot weather we have not been baking. Today I am jumping back into it no matter what. I got this amazing recipe and fresh zucchini from a clients garden.

I'm excited for the week ahead. I am working with Tanya St. Marie of InSpaRation Salon to create our very own spa experience for you coming in September. We're hoping to offer you a massage and facial package or 2 hours of relaxation back to back. I will keep you posted on that. Also new products should be in by then for resale and more massage and Medium Healing specials.

May you be blessed with harmony in your heart, peace of mind, and an abundance of joy and love to surround you always.

Hello Saturday ☕️🇺🇸

Hello Saturday ☕️

Welcome - On weekend posts there's no structure. Just me and my morning coffee sharing my week. I started these posts on my a Instagram page years ago for my family to keep them in touch with all of the family history research I do. I thought this may be a good way to keep in touch with you as well. I can honestly say this week has left me feeling WET! ugh. I am trying really hard to count the blessing and not be critical of our Mother Nature. 🙄

This week the universe had me dive into Aura colors and really mediate on their meaning and understand them. It has been very eye opening and amazing. By that I mean, I realized this week how much I have taken for granite of this skill I was born with and how much there is to learn. It was a rather humbling and exciting week. The aura colors are symbols to those that can see them. Narrowing down what they mean to you is the hardest part for me. I see so many that it was overwhelming most of my life. I had to first learn how to shut off the skill and then learn how to turn it on again. Not only do you need to know what a symbol is for, you need to understand how it is connected to the Chakra health and Aura field health. Then we need to also look at how you are feeling emotionally and physically. Ya - it's a lot. My hope is to continue fine tuning the skills to the point of being able to be more like a medical intuitive. Connecting all of these elements so that I can provide a greater picture of you and your health.

This week I continued my August challenge of eating right. I found this week I lacked in the water department. I didn't know about you, but before I know it the day is gone. WT!! I also wanted to try a walking program. Due to my concussion, activity is the worst. Anything that raises the heart rate causes issues. I made it up to a mile the week prior but the consequences after that week meant a lot of down time. I was pretty sick. So this week - sadly I did nothing. And guess what - No down time. On one hand it's been nice not to be so sick. On the other - I miss being active. How are you doing this August?

If you have seen me in the last two weeks you may have noticed that my eyes look a little different. Last week I ran to my eye clinic for an emergency check up to find I have inflammation on my eye and dry eyes. Very painful 😣 I’m now on drops to help clear up both.

With that I wish you a very blessed Saturday.  ☕️

4 Types of Headaches

A tension headache is described as the most common type of headache in the world. There is no definitive clear cause for a tension headache but research has suggested it can be caused from stress or anxiety, sometimes certain smells, noise, bright lights and even tiredness and dehydration are known to be a trigger in some cases.

Treating tension-type headaches

The most common treatment for dissolving this headache will be paracetamol, ibuprofen, naproxen or aspirin. These are over the counter drugs that are supplied pretty much anywhere. Make sure you are not exceeding the recommended daily dosage and are not taking them for more than a couple days. Doing this may cause further symptoms and side effects.

Other home remedies or lifestyle changes may be also worth trying:

  • Hot or cold compressed towels on the face and neck

  • Maintaining good posture

  • Drinking plenty of water

  • Eating healthy and filling foods

  • Spending less time on electronic screens such as phone or computer

  • Relaxation techniques such as yoga, massage or exercise

  • Getting fresh air

  • Catching up on sleep, but making sure you do not over sleep as this may make it worse

These are simple tips but may help relieve some of the headache pain you are experiencing.

The pain of a tension headache can be felt on both sides of the head. Sometimes it can affect your neck and shoulder muscles too. It can be described as a tightening, dull ache or heavy type of pain but it is usually not severe enough to stop you from daily activities. These headaches can last for a couple of hours.

Similar to the Migraine that I spoke about yesterday, early detection of the symptoms is the best time to get in for a massage to get relief. Getting a massage in the midst of a full blown headache may cause you to become physically ill and very difficult to get home if you are the driver.

See you soon

The Aura Color Red - Part II

UNDERSTANDING AURA SHADES OF RED

As with any hue found in the energy field of a person, shades of red can be interpreted in different ways, depending on the exact shade of the energy and what it is believed to attract or repel, by each psychic reader. The colors are symbols to us as to what may be going on with you.

MURKY RED AURA

Unfortunately, there is a dark side to red energy. A murky red aura, or an aura that has more gray or dark undertones, is believed to be a sign of negative energy. Just as the color red itself can be a sign of anger, a murky red aura may be found around someone who is repressing anger issues.

It may be associated with violence, aggression, and a tendency to lash out at others. People with this color who exhibit anger issues should work to address the root cause of their frustrations, and possibly consider meditation or daily affirmations.

BRIGHT RED AURA

On the other hand, a bright red aura is sometimes associated with passion, sensuality, and overall more positive energy. People who are competing in an event they love, working on a project they care about, or enjoying satisfying intimate relationships may project this aura color.

This color is also believed to be connected with sensuality and compassion, and *pink tones in the aura are understood to be present in people who are especially tender and affectionate.

CLOUDED RED AURA

A clouded red aura is similar to a murky red aura, but it may have a more temporary cause. Like the murky red aura, clouded red auras are believed to be negative in nature. They may manifest when a person is experiencing an immediately frustrating or stressful situation, or exhibiting a generally bad mood. Some people believe that seeking serenity and releasing negative thoughts may help to heal this color.

I hope you enjoyed this little bit on the Aura Color of Red.

Blessings

The Aura Color Red.

The Aura Color Red - Part I

How would you go about describing the picture above and how does it make you feel?
I found the photo above while working on this post. It is exactly what I see of a coworkers Aura.
Amazing.

Today I want to share with you what it is I see. We’ll start by covering the colors because quite honestly this is one of the most beautiful things I can do. I get a lot of questions about Aura colors, which surprises me every time because I realized in writing this, I have seen them forever and never put any thought into them.

Each color and it's shades is a symbol for mental, emotional and physical wellbeing.
It would be overwhelming and exhausting to go around contemplating each one.

Above is an example of the color shades of Red. Is one shade better then the other? No. What they symbolize to me is where you are mentally, emotionally and physically.

Hello Saturday ☕️🇺🇸

Welcome to Hello Saturday ☕️
Here we just chat about the week. I hope your week went well.

I set my intention for August to eat better and start a walking program. Since last November (2019) I have followed The Galveston Diet. It’s not a fad diet. It’s a lifestyle change for women over 50. Who are sick and tired of those hot flashes. Like ME. It’s not a keto diet either. It was developed by a woman doctor for women in menopause. Perfect. And Easy! Perfect - I need that in my life as well. I recommend checking it out. End those hot flashes by implementing simple steps into your life. 🙌🏻 If you start the diet let me know what you think.

I also started walking this week. I haven’t walked since 🤔 I’m not sure. I’m talking a walk that increases your heart rate not a leisurely stroll down the road. My first attempt got me 3 blocks from home before the symptoms of my concussion kicked in and 45 min in bed until the symptoms were gone. My second attempt- I decided to test the symptoms how bad is bad. Do they get worse if I keep walking? So I kept walking. They didn’t get worse. They were still tolerable. So I walked a mile and then found I was down longer until the symptoms left. I did this one more time this week. So... part of me wonders if this didn’t effect my work day. So much so that by weeks end I was too sick to do anything else. Today I am still recovering from the week.

I decided to reach out to a concussion specialist clinic, The Foundation Neurology, this week. I set up a consultation appointment. You might be wondering why didn’t I do that sooner? Well because everyday with a concussion different. Some days I am great. Why call for help. And I am a horrible patient. 🙄 As much as I would like to think a positive mind or strong well will make it all better - it doesn’t. In this case nothing changes a brain injury.

Today I’m hoping to rest and relax at home. We share see. My husband’s big on lists. 🙄

I wish you the very best today.

7 Aura Fields and What They Reveal

This week I've spent a little time sharing and explaining what your stress points may really mean, your chakras and what they show emotionally is going on and now we look at the Auras.
There's a lot of information that can be gathered about a person in everything about us.

The human aura is described as a hazy bubble of light that surrounds a human being from head to toe. An aura has multiple layers that interact and relay information between the body through its seven chakra energy centers, and the immediate external environment.

Each layer of the aura relates to the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual conditions of an individual. Energetic vibrations of a person’s thoughts, feelings, state of health, awareness, and past experiences are stored in the different aura layers.

There are seven auric layers that are commonly witnessed. The outermost layer of an aura’s energy field extends anywhere from five to seven feet from the physical body, with the range of its extension dependent upon the overall health and well-being of an individual.

1st Layer: Etheric

  • Closest to the physical body about 2"
  • Represents the physical body, muscles, tissues, bones, etc.
  • Connected to the root chakra

2nd Layer: Emotional

  • Second from the physical body
  • Represents emotions and feelings- It is in a constant state of change
  • Connected to the solar plexus chakra
  • Can be muddy/Gray colored during times of emotional stress
  • State of the chakras can be easily determined from this layer
The energies present in the second aura layer will communicate with the first layer, and then process this information into the physical body. Physical tension, muscle cramps and upset stomach could be a result of the etheric (first) layer being bombarded by emotional pain residing in the second aura layer.

3rd Layer: Mental

  • Third from the physical body- 4 to 8" from the body
  • Represents thoughts, cognitive processes and state of mind
  • Connected to the Sacral Chakra
  • Often radiates the strongest around the head, neck and shoulders
The first three layers of the aura reflect our physical nature and presence, the fourth layer is the window to our spiritual nature, separating the first three layers from the outer three aura layers.

4th Layer: Astral

  • Fourth from the physical body
  • Represents where we form our astral cords with others
  • Connected to the heart chakra
  • Becomes stronger through loving, intimate relationships

5th Layer: Etheric Template

  • Fifth from the physical body
  • Represents the entire blueprint of the body that exists on this physical plane
  • Includes everything you create on this physical level including your identity, personality and overall energy
  • Connected to the throat chakra
  • Healed and made stronger by expressing your truth and knowing who you truly are

6th Layer: Celestial

  • Sixth from the physical body
  • Connected to the third eye chakra
  • Carries a very strong and powerful vibration
  • Represents the connection to the Divine and all other beings
  • Where unconditional love and feelings of oneness flow
  • Pearly white in color
  • When strong, the person may have the ability to communicate with the spirit world and receive angelic messages
  • Can be healed with unconditional love

7th Layer: Ketheric Template

  • Furthest away from the physical body - This varies in length away.
  • Represents the feeling of being one with the Universe
  • Holds all the information about your soul and previous lifetimes
  • Vibrates at the highest frequency
  • Connected to the crown chakra
  • Gold in color
So as you can see there's a lot of information that can be gathered from each layer. Aura's are more then just colors. They are pockets of information about all aspects of us. I believe just as we have doctors that specialize in each aspect of our physical body, we too, should have individuals that specialize in each of these areas. It is a miss conception is that a 'Reader' or 'Seer' or even a Medium can provide you with all of this information. Perhaps bits of it but honestly there's a lot to cover.

May you be blessed with harmony in your heart, peace of mind, and an abundance of joy and love to surround you always.

7 Chakras and What They Reveal

Yesterday a I shared with you 12 places that our body stores stress and the emotions tied to those areas. Today we look at the 7 Chakras and the emotions tied to them.

Root Chakra

This chakra is located at the base of the spine and relates to feelings of groundedness. This is our foundation in life and relates to feeling like your basic needs, those necessary for survival, are met.

When I may mention to you that it looks cloudy or out of balance, perhaps you are experiencing fear that you won't have our needs met, and this results in anxiety. We also feel like we're not good enough, or in fear, like we're not safe, this also causes this chakra to appear blacken or cloudy.

Sacral Chakra

This chakra centers on the sacrum, which is the triangular bone at bottom of the spine, connecting it to the hipbones. It also encompasses the sex organs.

The second chakra relates to creativity, which also includes the sex organs because they're where we create life. Because this chakra is tied to the water element, it represents our emotional experience.

If you repress your emotions, this chakra is likely out of balance.

When this chakra is in balance, we gracefully allow ourselves to flow with the rhythm of life. Out of balance, we feel stuck, uncreative or dis-passionate, or ashamed of our bodies.

Naval Chakra (or solar plexus)

This chakra, located by the belly button, relates to our personal power and will. It's about the fire in the belly.

When this chakra is out of balance, you may feel angry, full of guilt, or unable to influence the world around you. It's like life happens to you and you have no power to create the life you desire.

Balancing this chakra isn't about controlling life, but about recognizing those things you do have influence over. It's about feeling worthy of taking up space. Out of balance, you likely also need external validation.

Heart Chakra

This chakra is all about love! Balance in the first three chakras supports an open heart. When you feel secure in the world, it allows you to be creative and in the flow of life. That security and fluidity then rise to create a sense of personal power.

A strong solar plexus and personal boundaries protect your open heart.

Out of balance, you may feel sad or lonely. This isn't a call to judge yourself, but to love yourself.

Throat chakra

This chakra is located — surprise! — at the throat. It relates to speaking our truth and speaking up for what we believe in. However, it also relates to comparison.

When we compare ourselves to others, it literally closes down this chakra, reducing our capacity to create our own lives. This makes sense when you think about how focusing your energy on another person naturally reduces the energy available to focus on your own life.

Where attention goes, energy flows. So keeping your attention firmly on your own life and your own possibilities will help you break free from karmic cycles of action and reaction and instead actualize your soul's highest purpose.

Here too, it's important to remember the energy of love from the fourth chakra when speaking your truth. Speaking too bluntly or harshly and without kindness is as much a symptom of imbalance as not speaking your truth at all.

The Third Eye

This center, located between the eyes, is the center of spiritual wisdom. It's a sense of knowing beyond words, or seeing what's left unsaid. This is the chakra of intuition and the sixth sense.

While blocks in the lower centers tend to be the most stubborn because they come from family or society or other deep blocks, we tend to be our own worst enemies when it comes to these higher chakras.

If you always ask everyone else's advice, trusting outside wisdom over your own inner voice, it ultimately intensifies the doubt you feel.

To enhance your intuition, take small steps. Ask yourself what you'd like to eat for a meal or wear for the day and stay present to what comes up. Does a picture emerge in your mind? A taste? An idea?

The Crown Chakra

This is where spiritual energy enters our bodies. We all have cords — kind of like umbilical cords — that rise from the crowns of our heads up into the heavens.

The more you meditate, practice yoga and overall strengthen your spiritual energy, the thicker your cord becomes. As more spiritual energy flows through your body, you radiate. You can't help but attract your destiny to you because you are the embodiment of a spiritual being having a human experience.

I know this was a very long post. Thank you for reading - til tomorrow

Your Emotions Revealed in 12 Stress Locations

12 Body Parts that are Pained by Stress

Many people are using the wrong cure for their chronic pain. Why? Because they haven’t pinpointed the underyling cause of their pain in the first place. One especially common, yet often overlooked source is stress.

Studies have found those who experience stress and anxiety tense and constrict their muscles, causing fatigue and cramps over time. You may be familiar with conditions such as headaches and IBS resulting from stress, but the adverse effects of stress can be further reaching

Head

Headaches can be a result of battling obstacles and worrying about the little things. The best way to deal with this ailment is to take the time to relax, without feeling guilty or thinking about your troubles. You deserve some peace and quiet, and this will increase your productivity afterward.

Neck

Resentment is a destructive emotion for your neck, whether it’s a grudge against others or yourself. It’s hard to let go and forgive, but redirecting your attitude can make all the difference. You won’t always meet your high expectations, and that’s okay. People aren’t always trying to harm you, even when it feels that way. Think about the things you love, your unique abilities, and your past achievements.

Shoulders

Tough decisions take a toll on your shoulders, whether there is one choice hovering over you or many. Perhaps someone is pressuring you or maybe you are naturally indecisive. Whichever the case, lighten the load on your shoulders by sharing your dilemma with someone close to you. Even if they cannot advise, talking about your concerns aloud can alleviate them and help you find the solution within yourself.

Upper Back

Pain in the upper back is frequently a result of feeling unappreciated or fearing love. It’s hurtful to experience a lack of support from family and good friends. One solution is open communication. Reconnect to those who you love and go out to meet new people. Be friendly and don’t hold back words of affection.

Lower Back

Lower Back pain can be induced by the fear of loss and obsession with money. Financial worries are damaging to one’s health and relationships, but remember that money does not buy happiness. You don’t need wealth to be happy. Do what you love so that you will have the joy, and profit will follow.

Elbows

Human beings naturally resist significant changes and fear of newness. Illogical stubbornness is a general response to these situations, causing joint pain. Remember that sometimes life is not as complicated as we make it seem. Don’t waste your energy fighting things you cannot change. Let life flow and hang on for a glorious ride.

Hands

Introvertedly-inclined people may experience pain in their hands due to an absence of companionship. If you experience this sort of discomfort, it’s time to come out of your shell. Friends can be made in the most bizarre situations. Let loose at concert or sports event, and feel a part of the crowd.

Hips

Many people become accustomed to the comfort found in a predictable lifestyle. When new situations arise, they may experience pain in our hips, signifying our fear of change. Remember that life is like a river, it keeps rushing and changing, and that’s what keeps it interesting. Think of it as an adventure and don’t procrastinate big decisions.

Knees

No one likes to think of themselves as conceited, but knee pain can be a signal for an inflated ego. Look around; the world doesn’t revolve around you. Pay attention to the struggles of your friend, parent, and coworker. Nobody loses out on giving to others. You will feel more fulfilled.

Calves

Sometimes relationships can be tense, especially when feelings of possessiveness or jealousy arise. Relax and learn how to trust your significant other and friends. Don’t try to control or change them, instead, think of the reason you became close with them in the first place. But, if you discover yourself in an unhealthy situation in which the other person is driving you to lose touch with yourself, it may be time to move on.

Ankles

Life has a way of making us so busy that we forget to take proper care of ourselves. Our job could be very taxing, or we neglect our needs, or we hold off on fulfilling our dreams. If you are stuck in this rut, it’s time to break free. Buy that expensive item you’ve been eyeing, go to bed early for a change, open yourself up to romance, or book a trip. Only you can make your dreams a reality.

Feet

Apathy seems to stop our body from moving forward. When we feel like failures, and everything is going wrong, our feet begin to hurt. To fight the pain, start paying attention to the details of life and the beauty of the world. Use all of the five senses to optimize your experiences. Try new things that interest you. Make it your point to smile more, because it looks great on you!

De-Stress to Heal

The next time a headache is coming on, try relaxing instead of popping a Tylenol. Cure the source of pain by reducing anxiety and stress. The physical is giving you a message from your emotions. Don’t silence the messenger with a pill. Listen to your body because it wants you the best for you.
